The primary purpose of this position is to research
opportunities for community development and fundraising. The
person in this position will work closely with the Executive
Committee and Board to develop a comprehensive annual fund
raising program, including organizing special and social
events, grant writing, direct mail appeals, and major gifts.
The person in this position should be highly self motivated
and highly self actualizing with a passion for community
development.
Specific
Responsibilities:

Diversify and maintain funding base to
increase resources

Work in partnership with Executive Committee
and Board to develop materials to diversify funding base and
increase revenue

Producing detailed proposals for events (e.g.
timeliness, venues, budgets and programs) and organizing
them,

Setting up fundraising and public awareness
stalls at various community events
-
Research and identify potential funders and
other relevant stakeholders
-
Maintain new records and updating existing
ones; tracking lost donors; issuing receipts and thank you
letters
-
Work with and report to Executive Committee
and Board Members
-
Develop donor communication materials such as
proposals, thank you letters, etc.
-
Attend Annual General Meeting
-
Perform other duties from time-to-time as
related to the job and based on organizational needs.

Familiarity with issues facing Arab Canadians
with a special understanding of youth, and newcomer
communities
