Job Bank

The goal of the LCHA Job Bank will be to provide employment opportunities to individuals within our cultural community in a manner which is effective and with the utmost of integrity.

The mandate of the LCHA Job Bank is to realistically and practically improve the overall status of our community by moving the unemployed on to independence through jobs or further related training.

The LCHA will work with Emploi-Québec, the CLSC and consultants in the field to build a Job Bank that will be of incredible service to our community.  We will assist in the employment goals of the hundreds of men and women who need it most.  At the same time, the Job Bank will service the employment needs of the many well-established businesses in our community. We will reach out to the unemployed help them find a match that will put them to work in Montreal’s vibrant business, medical and cultural world.

The Job Bank is a project very close to the hearts of the long-standing LCHA members. With your support we will develop an informed and progressive business model and build a Job Bank our community can be proud of.

The Cinderella Project

The Cinderella Project is dedicated to promoting confidence and self-esteem in financially challenged young newly-arrived girls in our cultural community by allowing them the opportunity and the means to attend their school prom and other social events by donating quality formal and semi-formal attire and accessories and services.

The project will accept donations of formal dresses, shoes, purses, unopened cosmetics, hosiery and jewelry and other items. Monetary donations will be accepted to cover expenses such as transporting and storing the clothing.

The organization will forge partnerships with local manufactures, suppliers and service providers to collect gowns and accessories and then donates the items to the girls free of charge.

Most importantly the women of The LCHA Cinderella Project will be dedicated to lead by example providing mentoring, guidance and friendship to the young women of our cultural community facing financial hardship, difficulty in adjusting to the Canadian lifestyle and lack of awareness of the golden opportunities Canadian society provides for their future.

Focus will also include encouraging the pursuit of higher education, career opportunities, family values and benevolence.

Book and Culture Club

The LCHA is excited to announce the establishment of its first Book and Culture Club.  The newly formed club will promote and encourage community participation in the works of Middle Eastern and Lebanese-Canadian authors, musicians and artists.

Participants in the Book and Culture Club will meet five or six times a year to enjoy informative and entertaining speakers, meet authors, view films and attend theatre and concerts.

As part of the plan, we will build a book and DVD library available to all members.
